10 DEC 16: Page 45-4 steps 6-7: 1.5 hours
Match drilled #30 and clecod the gas strut doubler to the inner shell.  Epoxied the strut doublers to the inner door shells.  Re-drilled #30 and riveted the doublers to the door shells:

 1 JAN 17: Page 45-5 steps 1-7 (L), page 45-4 steps 1-5 (R): 4.5 hours
Masked to fuselage with a piece of drop cloth in preparation of joining the outer and inner door shells:

I also chose to use some leftover insulation to insulate the doors.  I did this only to add some mass as the doors appear really flimsy.  Not sure if this was worth the effort, or will help in any way…

Epoxied the two shells together and placed the door subassembly onto the fuselage to cure.  Like many before me, I chose to cleco the door all the way around the door frame, rather than using clamps and weights as the plans suggest:


Finished this work session by attaching and match-drilling the right door subassembly to the fuselage.  This door is now ready for sanding and bonding:
